IBED SSG Empowers Student Leaders Through SKILLERA Seminar-Workshop

The Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED) Supreme Student Government (SSG) successfully held IBED SKILLERA: Student Leadership Seminar-Workshop on July 12, 2025 at the Bulwagang Genoveva Deles Jaranilla Gymnasium, NDMC. With the theme “Upholding purposeful leadership, making a positive difference for a better community,” the event gathered 225 student leaders from classroom officers, clubs, and organizations to strengthen their leadership skills and commitment to service.

Renowned speakers Mr. Mark Anthony V. General, LPT, MAELT and Ms. Alexis Nicole A. Agarrado shared valuable insights on leadership styles, purposive advocacy, and balancing academics with student responsibilities. In the afternoon, dynamic team-building activities challenged participants to apply their learnings through collaborative problem-solving and critical thinking.

The event concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing 20 outstanding student leaders, including five top awardees, for demonstrating exceptional leadership throughout the workshop. This initiative strongly supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals) by empowering youth to lead with integrity, purpose, and a vision for positive community impact.

The IBED SSG affirmed its commitment to continue organizing programs that inspire purposeful leadership and foster a culture of service among the student body.
