NDMC Faculty Join Data Science and Engineering Training

Faculty representatives of Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) participated in the Data Science and Engineering Training organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Region XII on November 20–22, 2025, at Notre Dame of Tacurong College, Tacurong City. The three-day capacity-building activity aimed to enhance IT educators’ competencies in data analytics, automation, programming, and data visualization.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Florante Sangrenes, a fly-in speaker from Luzon, and organized under the leadership of Mr. Donald B. Salminao, PSITE Region XII President. NDMC was represented by Ryan L. Nambong and EJ Ryle C. Mosquera, who actively engaged in all learning sessions to strengthen their instructional and technical skills.

Participants underwent hands-on training in Python programming using Google Colab, data automation, and web scraping, enabling them to efficiently process and analyze real-world datasets. The final day focused on R Programming, where participants practiced statistical analysis and data visualization using RStudio to generate meaningful insights through graphs and models.

The training enriched participants’ understanding of modern data-driven technologies and reinforced the importance of integrating these tools into classroom instruction and academic research. It also strengthened collaboration among IT educators in Region XII, opening opportunities for future knowledge-sharing and partnerships. NDMC extends its appreciation to PSITE Region XII, Notre Dame of Tacurong College, and the resource speaker for a productive and impactful training experience.
