NDMC HawksRaven Team Wins Silver at Philippine Army Cyber Defense Exercise TRON 2026
The Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) HawksRaven Team earned a Silver Medal at the First-Ever Philippine Army Cyber Defense Exercise TRON 2026 – Divisional Qualifier, held on October 27–28, 2025, at the Philippine Army Headquarters, Brgy. Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte. Organized by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Command and Control Communications and Cyber Systems (G6) of the 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, the event gathered student teams and professionals to showcase skills in cybersecurity, innovation, and digital defense.
The competition featured real-time cyber defense simulations, network protection challenges, and system recovery tasks designed to test participants’ technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork under pressure. The NDMC HawksRaven Team demonstrated strong coordination and technical competence, engaging in a closely contested match against the For Real? Team of STI Cotabato, with scores remaining close until the final round.
The HawksRaven Team was composed of students from the College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) and the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), mentored by Mr. Ryan L. Nambong, faculty member of CITE. Team members included Adrian Ebrao and Joshua Cabaya (BS Computer Science – 3), Devine Vasquez (BS Forensic Science – 4), and Eden Joey Bundalian (BS Criminology – 4). After two days of intense competition, STI Cotabato secured the championship with 8,150 points, while NDMC HawksRaven finished strong with 7,930 points.
The team’s achievement highlights NDMC’s commitment to excellence in information technology, cybersecurity education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Their performance underscores the importance of cybersecurity awareness, continuous learning, and teamwork in addressing modern digital threats.
