NDMC Participates in the 1st SWARA Conference 2025

The Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC), through its Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) Program under the College of Arts and Sciences, actively participated in the 1st Social Welfare Annual Research Advancement (SWARA) Conference 2025 held at the KCC Convention Centre, Cotabato City. Organized by the Ministry of Social Services and Development, the conference gathered 54 students and faculty researchers from various institutions to present research focused on social welfare, community empowerment, and social justice.

NDMC student researchers showcased studies addressing critical issues affecting vulnerable communities, particularly women in the Bangsamoro region. The institution earned recognition with two major awards: Best Research Poster (1st Place) for “Masakit sa Pamusungan Uged na Dala ko den Ipalamantag”: A Phenomenological Study of Women in Child Marriages, and 3rd Place – Best Research Paper for “Babae Ako, Hindi Babae Lang”: Exploring the Experiences of Bangsamoro Women in Male-Dominated Communities. These achievements highlight NDMC’s strong research culture, effective faculty mentorship, and commitment to producing socially responsive and transformative social work research.
