SIDLAK 2019 Officially Opens

Camaraderie, Sportsmanship, and Solidarity spelled out this year’s intramural meet of the Notre Dame of Midsayap College. The five-day academic hiatus from September 9 to 13 commenced with a Eucharistic celebration at the Bulwagang Geneoveva Deles-Jaranilla. This was officiated by Fr.Elmer Boston , OMI. The mass was also offered to celebrate Mama Mary’s Day. A motorcade followed around the town presenting the Mr. and Ms. Sidlak candidates along with the throng of competing teams in college, senior high school and junior high school. The Sidlak 2019 was officially opened by Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI – school president. The afternoon activity was intense-filled as the first competition kicked off – the Mass Dance. The first to compete was the grade school – the bout between Orioles and Guardians. The field competition continued, this time with the entries from the Junior High School – Golden Eagles, Blue Toucans and Black Hawks. For the college mass dance, the first to present was the ASCEND Blue Toucans. This was followed by the CBA Golden Eagles. The third performer was the CITE Black Hawks. The esteemed judges include Cedrick Simbajon, Wilfredo Cabrera and Jesther John Ponciano, RN, LPT. The Orioles was declared first place in the Grade School, while Guardians took the second place. In the Junior High School division, Black Hawks was adjudged the champion. Blue Toucans earned the second place while Golden Eagles clinched the third place. For the college mass dance, CITE Black Hawks won champion. CBA Golden Eagles was declared first runner-up. ASCEND Blue Toucans bagged second runner-up.
