Seminar on Data Privacy Act and Effective Customer Service
Personnel from the institution attended a two-day seminar on Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act) and Effective Customer Service on June 12–13, 2025 at Yoyo’s Café, Obrero, Davao City, with Atty. Jose Gerfel F. Geralde, CPA as resource speaker.
The seminar emphasized the importance of protecting personal information, understanding the rights of data subjects, and ensuring institutional transparency and accountability. Participants also gained practical knowledge on data handling, privacy compliance, and the principles of transparency, legitimacy, and proportionality.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by strengthening responsible data governance, and supports SDG 4: Quality Education by enhancing the knowledge and competencies of personnel.
Recommendation: Evaluate and improve current data management practices to ensure full compliance with privacy laws and better protect stakeholder information.
