NDMC Lahing Sayapeño Triumphs as Champion in the 18th Cotabato Dance Festival
The Lahing Sayapeño Cultural Dance Troupe of Notre Dame of Midsayap College proudly claimed the Champion title at the 18th Cotabato Dance Festival held on November 15, 2025, at the NDMC Gymnasium. As one of the featured events of the Sinugba Festival, the competition brought together top-performing groups in folk dance, hip hop, and cheerdance from various parts of Cotabato. With this year’s theme, “Galing ng Midsayap: Tunay na Saya, Bayang Nagkakaisa,” the festival highlighted local artistry and unity through cultural celebration.
NDMC’s Lahing Sayapeño captivated the judges with a performance that showcased cultural authenticity, discipline, and artistic excellence. They bested equally talented groups, with Amianan Folkloric Dance Troupe from Kidapawan City securing 1st Runner-Up and CFCST–Merayag Folkloric Dance Troupe from Arakan placing 2nd Runner-Up. The winning team was composed of dedicated students and alumni from NDMC’s BPED, BSED, BSA, SHS, and CBA programs.
The success of the troupe was strengthened by NDMC’s unwavering support—providing resources, rehearsal venues, and motivation that inspired the dancers to perform with pride and confidence. Their victory stands as a testament to NDMC’s commitment to nurturing cultural talent and promoting excellence in the performing arts.
