BHumServ Final Defense Held at NDMC

The Bachelor in Human Services (BHumServ) Final Defense was successfully conducted on October 23, 2025, under the College of Arts and Sciences of Notre Dame of Midsayap College. The activity served as the culminating academic requirement for 4th-year BHumServ students, providing them with the opportunity to present and defend their research studies.

During the event, six research groups presented studies focusing on key social and behavioral concerns such as mental health literacy, coping mechanisms, social support systems, financial stress, and work-life balance. The presentations were evaluated by a panel of faculty members and social science practitioners who offered constructive feedback to help strengthen the students’ research and analytical skills.

Ms. Angel Lhi D. Alcalde, Research Focal of the College of Arts and Sciences, served as the resource person and emphasized the importance of ethical research practices, sound methodology, and clear presentation of findings. The activity highlighted the collaborative efforts of research advisers, readers, statisticians, and panelists in ensuring the academic quality of each study.

The successful conduct of the BHumServ Final Defense reflected NDMC’s commitment to academic excellence, research development, and the preparation of future human service professionals who are responsive to social issues and community needs.
