College of Business and Accountancy Accepts Young Entrepreneurship Academy Mentorship

Many successful business enterprises have bloomed from the halls of learning of an academic institution. This vision comes to a reality through the rigorous implementation and monitoring of its Extension division. This is a fact recognized by the government in partnering many endeavors with schools that yielded sustainable fruition.

The Department of Trade and Industry in partnership with the Notre Dame of Midsayap College have signed into a Memorandum of Agreement on the implementation of the former’s banner program Young Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) last October 5 at the Primera Function Hall.

Mr. Ferdinand Cabiles, DTI Cotabato Provincial Director was all appreciation to NDMC for partnering with the endeavor of catering to the needs of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to advance their business operations. Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI – NDMC President reciprocated DTI’s vision in his Message of Support.

Dr. Genevieve O. Torino, CBA Dean and 3 select faculty of expertise will mentor young entrepreneurs scouted by Business Counselors from different municipalities aged 18 to 30 years old who are willing to undergo the program.

The program will run for about 5 weeks. Three weeks will be used for the modular online sessions. Each module training session is 4 hours. The online session is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm to 4pm. The remaining weeks will be spent for evaluation and graduation.

Scheduled Modular Topics for the said program are:

October 05: Module 1: Entrepreneurial Mind-setting and Values Formation – Ms. Anne Obedencia, MBA

October 07: Module 2: Operations Management – Acct. Bob Agustin Gelacio, MBA

October 12: Module 3: Accounting and Finance for Small Businesses – Ms. Dana Florendo, CPA

October 14: Module 4: Human Resource Management – Dr. Genevieve O. Torino

October 19: Module 5A: Market Driven Innovation: Product Development – Ms. Anne Obedencia, MBA

October 21: Module 5B: Market Driven Innovation: Market Expansion and Internalization – Ms. Anne Obedencia, MBA

The mentees will avail assistance on product development session and attendance to trade exhibit, invitation to young entrepreneurs forum, access-to-market, access-to-finance, social media marketing training.
