The essence of Christmas is giving. The most relevant gift one could give is love and compassion. Truly, it is in giving where we see the magnanimity of gratefulness and the much bigger returns of generosity.

The celebration of gift giving to the Manobo elderlies last December 14 was the brainchild of the Office of the NDMC Community Extension Services with the strong support and assistance coming from the:

Mrs. Ellen V. Delosa, CES Directress along with Mrs. Delma D. Jaranilla, CES Assistant welcomed this year’s recipients of kindness and generosity.

Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI – NDMC President, who also celebrated his birthday on that day gave his message, lifting the spirits of the elderlies . Fr. Domingo highlighted the very core of the OMI congregation – the indigenous people closest to the heart of their mission.

The celebration continued with the special performances from the participants. The SSG facilitated the parlor games drawing laughter and good vibes from the elderlies.

The gift giving was the heart of the occasion to which the all the elderlies literally brought home a sack of grocery and assorted gift items.

All smiles and in tears of gratefulness, the Manobo elderlies expressed their deepest gratitude. But the most grateful are the ones who generously shared their blessings to most needy – the essence of Christmas once felt and delivered.
