Yes to Sports, Never to Drug: A Fundraising Program for a Cause Through Acrobatic Show.

Today, March 27, 2023, marks the day on the Damean calendar to witness the much-anticipated acrobatics show.

Acrobatics is a magical form of amusement where the performers execute various stunts such as tumbling, jumping, and balancing, often later using such apparatus as poles, one-wheel cycles, balls, barrels, tightropes, trampolines, and flying trapezes.

The acrobatics can be traced back to 1859 when the invention of the flying trapeze by J. Léotard, as well as Charles Blondin’s crossing of Niagara Falls on a tightrope, revitalized public interest in aerial gymnasts and acrobats. Although the trapeze had never been seen before, rope dancing can be traced back to ancient Greece.

Thanks to the NDMC Supreme Student Government in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and Services which worked hand in hand to give Dameans a great show. With the approval of the NDMC President, Fr. Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI, and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Engr. Ronniel D. Labio, MIT, the plans laid out for students materialized. Evident in the faces of every Damean is their enthrallment and fascination with the performance seen.

In one way or another, the event halted the cortisol release brought about by the overwhelming academic tasks and left nothing but smiles on the faces of Notre Dameans.
