NDMC College of Education Holds Pre-Immersion Program on “Emotional Wellness”

The Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) – College of Education conducted a Pre-Immersion Program with the theme “Emotional Wellness” on August 14, 2025, at Primera Hall. The activity aimed to prepare incoming practice teachers for their internship journey by promoting self-awareness, mindfulness, and emotional readiness.

Organized by the Guidance and Testing Center with the help of BHUMSERV intern students, the program emphasized that emotionally healthy teachers are better equipped to handle classroom challenges and support their students’ growth.

The morning session included the Gordon Personality Test and the activity “My Readiness: Assessment of Personal and Emotional Skills.” Students also participated in Drawing Emojis, breathing exercises, and mindfulness meditation to help express and manage emotions.

In the afternoon, students attended a session on Psychological First Aid (PFA), where they learned how to help others in emotional distress. Through role-playing, they practiced applying these skills. Before the program ended, participants wrote letters to their immersion self as reminders to stay strong and positive throughout their internship.

The activity ended with sharing of insights and closing remarks, reminding students that the Guidance Office is always open to support them during their practice teaching journey.
