IBED Holds Emergency Response 2025 Training for Teachers and Staff
To strengthen safety and disaster preparedness, the Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED) conducted a two-day training, “IBED Emergency Response 2025: Equipping Teachers and Staff in First Aid and Earthquake Safety,” on July 25–26, 2025. Sessions were held at Bulwagang Genoveva Deles Jaranilla (Day 1) and Primera Function Hall (Day 2), with active participation from Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School faculty and staff.
The activity was spearheaded by the IBED Clinic, led by Ma’am Novel Mondero, RN, LPT, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Midsayap. Resource speakers FO3 Francis Anthony C. Gadayan, FO3 Leah Jane V. Jayme, FO3 Miko Owen V. Acido, and FO1 Hazel Jane P. Abillanida provided lectures and practical sessions on: Earthquake preparedness and drill execution, First aid for common medical emergencies and proper carries, Bandaging and splinting for fractures, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) management for adults and infants, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
Unit-based demonstrations showcased participants’ application of skills learned, ensuring practical competency.
This program strongly aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 13: Climate Action) by building resilience, enhancing emergency readiness, and promoting a safe and secure learning environment.
NDMC IBED reaffirms its commitment to cultivating a culture of preparedness and safety. Teachers and staff left the training more confident, capable, and ready to protect the school community during emergencies — a vital step toward resilience and long-term risk reduction.
